The Bidasoa Km0 project was created with the aim of promoting and boosting the consumption of local products and cooperation between the different agents of the food chain in the region.
Since 2015, the cooperative "Aldatsa Baratza" has been operating a piece of land provided by the Town Hall in the Agro de Hondarribia. However, what until now was a consumer group has turned into an innovative project that will take ecological food from the region to community canteens, be they in schools, residences or other centres. The aim is for food consumption to be based on short marketing chains that respect the environment and decent working conditions, while at the same time guaranteeing the use of the land.
This project is supported by the Basque Government and is in the process of interweaving the network of local producers.
