Zubimusu Ikastola, in collaboration with the company Askora, which is in charge of catering, has implemented this school year an innovative model of school dining room which aims to make the dining room "a unique space in which children, in addition to eating healthily, have a fun and educational experience. A people-centred dining room"- this is how Askora's managers present it.
The implementation of the model has meant changing the way we work and adapting spaces to the needs of children. The Mahi-Mahi project takes into account aspects that go beyond food. It looks at how the students feel at different times, how to take advantage of mealtimes to educate them in certain values and help them develop their autonomy or how to adapt to their spaces.
Zubimusu Ikastola's Mahi-Mahi dining room offers an exciting experience for children as they rethink their own roles. "They are no longer diners here, but take on a much more active role. They get involved in the tasks of setting the table, serving the food, and clearing the table after they have finished eating. It's about improving the experience that students have at lunchtime.
