The public purchase of food is preferably intended for collective catering, whether in the field of education, health, social or otherwise. School canteens, hospitals or residences are just one example.
School canteens, hospitals or residences are just one example.
The introduction of healthy food produced by local producers into the catering sector, while attracting increasing interest on the part of society, administrations and their policies, has not yet experienced a great deal of real growth.
The RESELoC project addresses the potential of the introduction of organic and/or local products in collective catering for the ecological and local sector. Indeed, the interest of society and public administrations in promoting the consumption of organic and local food in collective canteens requires a new approach on the part of the sector, especially with regard to access to public tenders, logistics, preparation and distribution of these foods, so as to be able to respond to the needs of this new market.
This project will identify and share experiences carried out in all three regions and will identify expert agents in each field. Joint professional meetings will be held in Navarre and Aquitaine. There will be visits on specific topics in each of the 3 regions and a final project meeting in Euskadi where the results will be shown. It is also planned to draw up a document on the project and its results, which will also serve as a communication and awareness-raising tool aimed at public authorities and society in general.
For all this, the partners, INTIA, HAZI and INTERBIO, will mobilise their collaborators and regional agents to exploit existing potential.
The project aims to strengthen and develop organic and local production by taking advantage of the momentum of collective catering and provide the agents involved (professionals, administrations, canteen managers, etc.) with sufficient tools and knowledge to respond to new needs.
