What is Emakume Txokoa?
- A service of the Equality Department of Arrasate City Council. It was created in 2003 in response to a historical demand made by the feminist movement, the need to have its own space for women.
- It is a space for meeting, training and empowerment of women. A space in which to weave networks in an atmosphere of trust and complicity.
- It is a space where initiatives and services are coordinated to promote the participation of women in all spheres of life.
- It is a space open to all people and social agents who work for equality between women and men.
- Its mission is to work to develop an equal, free and sustainable society for all people. In this endeavour it has become a reference space in Arrasate.
What does Emakume Txokoa offer?
- Information and general guidance on equality between women and men.
- A Legal Orientation service for women who face different situations of discrimination.
- Awareness-raising and prevention campaigns aimed at the general public (8 March, 25 November, among others) in coordination and collaboration with the local feminist movement and women's associations.
- Means and resources to get information and get closer to everything related to equality between women and men and feminism.
- The Women's Empowerment School JE! Promoting the personal and collective empowerment of women is one of the strategic axes of Emakume Txokoa in order to achieve the participation of women in all spheres of life, on the basis of equal opportunities. With this objective, Arrasateko Jabetze Eskola JE! was created in 2007.
