The Zerain Cultural Landscape project elaborates human and natural landscapes, promoting quality agricultural products and recovering an extensive heritage (mines, prison, museum, etc.). This is all then exhibited to visitors.
The idea of the Cultural Landscape restores socio-economic diversification, makes it possible to return the complexity of rural territories, and generates more prosperity, in terms of dignity and happiness.

Zerain Dezagun Fundazioa was born with the aim of planning the economic future of the community on the basis of two priority axes: working the land, and the service sector. We work on agriculture and livestock and improve traditional production, expanding the range to new products. All this is done from the perspective of retaining and appropriating all the added value that these quality products give, since processing and production are part of the process.

The service sector, and specifically the tourism sector, is seen as a way of offering a way to enjoy the landscape, which is maintained by the baserritarras who can live thanks to the fact that visitors appreciate their products and buy them at their fair value. Therefore, everything that is done for visitors must revert to the inhabitants. At the heart of it is the Tourist Office, where, among other activities, you can buy agricultural products and there is also a local shop for the residents of Zerain.
We can therefore say that the philosophy on which the Zerain community bases its future is one that involves the participation of all the people of Zerain at all levels of decision making and action.
