To alleviate the lack of precise data on consumption in the Basque Country of agricultural products and processed products of the territory, Uztartu (the agro-food cluster of Iparralde), in association with CCI Bayonne Pays Basque (The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bayonne - Iparralde), in 2016, carried out a study of the consumption of local food products.
This study evaluates the current consumption of local products in the Basque Country, helps to better understand the behaviour and purchasing practices of local products, and identifies the means and mechanisms to promote the consumption of local products.
In 2019, a new study will be carried out in such a way as to be able to conduct a comparison of the data from both.
